What made you decide to return to American Mining after so many years away? American Mining has always been a special place to me. I think that deep down, I always knew that I would come back to American Mining. During my consulting work with AMIC, the place just felt like home and I knew I wanted to come back.
Tell us a little about what you are doing in the IT department? We have been aggressively documenting and refining procedures. Our main focus this year is on documentation of existing processes and on disaster recovery.
What do you when you leave the office? What sort of hobbies do you have? I spend a lot of time with my dogs and my son. We raise and train Boykin spaniels for hunting and for field trials. It is a family effort. Just last week Kelly and I went to the Boykin Spaniel Society Upland Nationals and our puppy, Kara, won the Novice stake. You can learn more about Boykin spaniels on my website: www.OTMBoykins.com
Anything you'd like to tell us about family, etc? My wife Kelly has been the preschool director at Mountain Brook Presbyterian Preschool for the last 2 years. Before that, she was at home with the kids. Mary Myers (12) and Stuart (9) attend Mountain Brook Elementary School.
